A Navy Blue Wedding with Tulips and a Mexican Hat Wearing Bumble Bee!

I have seen, as you can imagine, many hundreds of weddings during my journey down this Curious Wedding path. But I have to say, without doubt, this wedding has the most smiley bride and groom I have ever seen!

Meet Andrew & Juliette, one very happy couple photographed beautifully by Paul Armes of PJA Photography.

Juliette, could you share you and Andrew’s reason for choosing Woodhall Manor for your outdoor wedding?

“We wanted an elegant but relaxed wedding – which was so perfect for Woodhall Manor. We loved the venue as it felt like it was ‘ours’ for the day, from the beautiful gardens for our ceremony, to the glowing room for our super tasty BBQ dinner, to the party room for the disco. It felt like a big posh house party for our bridal party after the wedding.”

Your flowers are gorgeous, why tulips?

“I only wanted bright tulips as they are my favourite flowers and reflected the spring wedding.”

How did you choose your colour theme?

“My favourite colour is navy, which also looks so beautiful with white, so that was an easy choice for the ‘theme’. But with my orange shoes and our love of bright and vibrant colours, we then wanted to have bright colours and ribbons to decorate the rest of the venue, tables, flowers and men’s socks.”

I just have to know, why is there a bumble bee wearing a Mexican hat on your wedding cake??

“When it came to the cake we couldn’t choose just one. So we had our family friends, who run a coffee shop, make us a selection of my favourite childhood cakes.

We then had a traditional cake from our friend Rachel, who also made a handmade topper. The bumble bee is wearing a Mexican hat to reflect the outfits we wore to a fancy dress party we went to when we first met.”

I love the way Andrew and Juliette’s happiness just shines from these photographs. Many thanks to them for allowing me to share their day and hats off to Paul Armes Photography for having the magic touch.

Just before I leave I wanted to also share Andrew and Juliette’s wedding video from TSJ Films. It’s a stunner.
