Make Your Own Fascinator and Mini Top Hat Kits

Happy Monday everyone, I hope you had a fab weekend. Mine was spent catching up with good friends and sewing. Yep, on Saturday evening I sat feverishly stitching my very own fascinator.

I ‘met’ Laura, owner of Laura After Midnight, during a mad #weddinghour on Twitter. After a look around her Etsy store,  I knew I had to feature her Fascinator and Mini Top Hat Kits.

Above: When the kits arrived I was thrilled to see how much thought had gone into the packaging. Beautifully wrapped in vintage style dress patterns and stuck with sticky tape that looked exactly like a tape measure. Such attention to detail!

Below: The Fascinator Kit included everything I needed to get started, all I had to do was grab scissors and sewing thread. Laura made this kit especially for A Very Curious Wedding, the colour and decorations she chose have a great ‘Alice’ feel.

Below: The Mini Top Hat Kit was everything I had hoped it would be. Plenty of lovely decoration to get those creative juices flowing. Once again the kit was put together for A Very Curious Wedding, this time with a nod in the direction of The Queen of Hearts.

My fascinator is almost finished, so watch this space for step-by-step photographs of the make along with a photo shoot of the finished head piece in all its glory.

Laura After Midnight currently operates from Midnight Heights… the very top floor of a ramshackle house in Clifton, Bristol. When not teaching they aim to create beautiful, unique and whimsical Vintage inspired Costumes and occasional clothing for every day and dress up occasions.

I can’t wait to finish the fascinator and get started on the mini top hat.
