While many brides, and grooms, can just walk into a wedding venue and know immediately that this is where they will have the wedding they always dreamed of, for others creating the dream wedding theme takes a little bit more effort. Not every hotel, marquee, and function room will suit everyone’s taste.
Hiring or borrowing furniture and accessories to develop your theme can transform even the plainest village hall into your dream wedding venue. Here are some theme ideas and tips for how you can turn any location into your dream wedding venue.
Beside the seaside
For beach lovers, the seaside theme is fabulous, and can even be recreated miles away from the sea. For outdoor venues, a striped marquee can provide the eating area. Buying sand to create a beach area, either on its own, or in a large sandpit provides children and adults alike with fun – don’t forget to provide buckets and spades.
Stripy deckchairs and parasols are essential not only to add style but to provide seating and shade on sunny days. Hire an ice-cream van to provide your guests with refreshment, and how about some donkeys? A Punch and Judy show is brilliant entertainment for young ones, and all can be finished off with a large dollop of sunshine. Fingers crossed.
Indoor venues can also be transformed into a seaside theme. All the essentials can be there, though you will have to be creative when it comes to introducing sand and water, and maybe have a re-think on the donkeys
Transform your village hall or community centre into an Ibiza-style club with stylish sofas, mirrored coffee tables, and a great DJ. Walls can be covered in black fabric rather than white to give the club look. Funky bar stools next to a bar serving cocktails are a real eye-catcher. Don’t forget to make a chill out area of bean bags and cosy sofas away from the main dance floor so your guests can relax once they’re all partied out.
Summer music festival
For Glastonbury-goers, the summer music festival theme is fantastic. A farm can be transformed easily into your own private festival. Grab some hay bales for seating and decoration, and dot around some colourful gazebos and small marquees.
Food can be a BBQ or even from burger vans. Colourful sofas set out in room shapes provide your guests with nice seating, and patio heaters keep your festival going longer into the night. Entertainment is essential, and a live band or two makes your festival complete.
Add a few circus entertainers and a face painter and you’ll have a festival to remember long after the mud has dried. However it is not mandatory to recreate all festival essentials – you can choose to have nice loos and not so much mud. It is your dream day after all!
Wedding furniture hire
To get your dream wedding, you don’t have to accept whatever décor and style your hotel or wedding venue gives to you. Work with your planners to make changes and additions to make your venue your dream location. If your style is completely different to traditional wedding venues, then it’s well worth looking into hiring somewhere much simpler and cheaper and freeing up some budget to buy or hire exactly what you need to give the look that you want, like this Las Vegas theme. Your dream wedding theme could be simple to make a reality. It’s your day, so make sure you get what you want.
